Ice storage uses the latent heat of melting ice of 335kJ/kg (80kcal/kg). The volume of the cold storage tank depends on the percentage of ice water in the tank. Generally, the volume of the ice storage tank is 0.068~0.085m3/RTH (0.02~0.025m3/kWh). The storage temperature of ice storage is -0°C, the freezing point of water. In order to freeze the water, the refrigerator should provide a temperature of -3 to -7°C, which is lower than that provided by conventional refrigeration equipment for air conditioning. Of course, the ice storage device can provide a lower air-conditioning water supply temperature, which is beneficial to increase the temperature difference between the air-conditioning supply and return water, so as to reduce the pipe size and the power consumption of the water pump.
Ice storage coil: An ice coil type cold storage device is an ice storage device with a heat exchange surface formed by a coil immersed in a water tank. During the cold storage process, the refrigerant (generally 25% by weight ethylene glycol aqueous solution) or refrigerant circulates in the coil, absorbs the heat of the water in the water tank, and forms an ice layer on the outer surface of the coil.
